Award winning wedding photographer Raleigh

Award winning, Raleigh NC wedding photographer,Michelle Gunton Photography. Those words are harmony to my ears. I checked email yesterday to find my wedding photographs had placed in a photo contest. Its a contest held by the WPS(wedding photographic society) a group of the best Raleigh,NC  wedding photographers and surrounding areas. So I am honored to say the least. Congrats to all the other winners as well. The best part of it all, is I am tied for 1st place in the overall standings through the 2nd quarter. I love being a wedding photographer because of the moments I get to freeze in time that can allow my clients to treasure them forever.

1st place in the details category ( Meghan and Les’s May Spring wedding) Taken at Crenshaw Hall in Wake Forest NC.

Judges comments were..

“Nice eyes on that shooter, to see what’s right in front of him/her. The shadows aping the action is a nice twist on the toast cliche.”

“Repetition of the shadow and the detail of it is interesting to look at. Different pays off.”

“Love the color and lighting in this photo it really makes a statement!”

3rd place in the cake category (Sept Fall Wedding) Photo taken at one of my favorite wedding venues The Matthew’s House.

The judges comments were

 ”Wow, they really got into smashing the cake. His face is covered with icing and I can feel it going up her nose from this photo.

“WE all see cake smashes but this one is done with abandon. The streaks on the grooms face and the double handed stuff make this a great capture.”

4th place in the photojournalism category( Tyler and Michael’s May Spring wedding) Judges comment

“This image really captures the setting of the ceremony, you feel like you were there.”
