When deciding whether to go with a professional wedding photographer, or your “cousin Sally” for your engagement pictures, bridal pictures, and your wedding day, I would like for you to consider these things.
What I think some people might forget to think about is…. Does “cousin Sally” have several back up hard drives to back up your pictures the same day they are taken? Yes I said the same day. Hard drives can crash, computers can crash, and the card the pictures are on can fail. The most important day of your life, done once hopefully, should be entrusted in hands who has the experience of protecting your wedding photos.
Does “cousin Sally” have a back up camera, back up flashes, backup batteries? What if you were depending on Sally for your wedding images and she shows up with one camera and it fails. Ummm what the heck are you going to do? Rely on the table top cameras that you bought at CVS? Hiring a professional should insure alot of backing up on everything.
Can ”Sally” give you shots that look like they could be in a magazine? I’ll let you answer that?
